10 Years of Unlocking Warwick!
The tenth anniversary of ‘Unlocking Warwick’, the Town Council’s volunteer group, is being celebrated in the Visitor Information Centre with an exhibition of pictures of the various community activities.
The display was opened by the Mayor, Cllr. Dave Skinner, who said the monthly social events in the ballroom, the tours around the Court House, the research into the stories behind the names on the war memorial, the Regency balls and other period dances, and dramatic reconstructions of past court cases were “a fabulous example of how volunteering can help so many people.”
Presenting the volunteers with a Mayor’s Certificate of Merit, he said,”I am so pleased to be here honouring the Unlocking Group on their tenth anniversary. Your achievements and ongoing activities are a credit to all the volunteers that have been with you over the past decade.”
Warwick Town Council provided a 10th birthday cake, and the Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire, Tim Cox, also attended the event and praised the very important work of volunteer groups across the county.
The Unlocking Warwick 10th anniversary display will be available to view at the Visitor Information Centre until the end of the month.
