On 27th March, members of Unlocking Warwick met in the Court House to plan a range of community events this spring and summer. Meetings of the group take place every two or three months with sub-groups meeting as required to organise specific activities, such as the monthly social club called ‘In the Ballroom’, (see Events), historical research, period musical events, Court House tours and the annual Regency ball.

At this meeting we launched the sale of tickets for a celebration of the Eighties on Saturday 27th May in the ballroom. Called ’80s Tropicana’ the evening will have a disco by DJ Stevie, a fish and chip supper, a retro quiz and probably a bit of dressing up. Tickets at £19.80 will include a welcome cocktail, and are now on sale at the Visitor Information Centre.  01926 492212.

Dancing of a different kind will be happening regularly in the ballroom. The Town Council is planning to stage monthly tea dances with the help of Unlocking Warwick volunteers. Keep an eye on the website for details.

On July 6th, the superb Divertimento choral group will be in the ballroom performing a range of different kinds of English music. Tickets will go on sale in May.
