Old photos in the ballroom 5th April
This month’s edition of our informal social group ‘In the Ballroom’ on Thursday 5th April will be a chance to share some old photos of Warwick, and hear about a new project marking the centenary of the First World War Armistice.
Unlocking Warwick’s Christine Shaw will give a preview of a new website devoted to the names on the Warwick War Memorial in Church Street. We are aiming to find the human stories behind the names of the 358 men and one woman who were killed in the Great War.
Perhaps you had a relative whose name is on one of the WWI plaques on the memorial. If you have a picture, letter or information, we’d be interested to know about it.
We will also like to see any other early pictures of the county town. So bring them along on Thursday. In the Ballroom is from 2pm to 4.30pm in the Court House in Jury Street, and costs just £2 to cover the cost of tea, coffee and cake. there’s no need to book. Just turn up.
