Perfect Weather for our Social
On Saturday 30th June, Unlocking Warwick held its traditional Summer Social in the lovely garden of the Unitarian Chapel, and the weather was perfect in the early evening after a scorching day.
There were plenty of shady spots in the garden to chat, have a cooling drink and enjoy the lovely buffet food brought by the volunteers. It was a chance to get to know each other better, and to talk to some of the Town Hall team and one or two Councillors.
The Mayor of Warwick, Richard Eddy, dropped by between other engagements and expressed his keen support for the work of Unlocking Warwick in organising community events in the Court House. He was particularly interested in our War Memorial Project, researching the archives to find the stories behind the names on the memorial in Church Street, which will be the centre of special Remembrance Day service on November 11th marking 100 years since the end of the fighting in WWI.
