A Change of Treasurer and Plans for 2022
On 18th October, Unlocking Warwick held its Annual General Meeting in the Court House. In fact it has been two years since the last AGM; the 2020 meeting was cancelled because of Covid-19 restrictions.
Karen Parker (Chair) and Rick Thompson (Secretary) were re-elected for another year, but Paula Fletcher had decided to step down as Treasurer. She had arranged for the accounts for the past two years to be audited. All was perfectly in order and Paula was warmly thanked for her work keeping our finances in order.
Christine Shaw was elected unanimously to become Treasurer. She has filled this role before, and as a highly-qualified Finance Manager, is perfectly placed to keep an eye on our relatively modest activities.
The meeting also considered when to bring back the popular monthly community events in the ballroom – suspended for the past 18 months. The provisional plan is to resume the social teas ‘In The Ballroom’ on the second Wednesday of each month from 2pm to 4pm, starting on March 9th. Organiser Ann Lettis is now preparing a programme of interesting speakers.
We also hope to resume the Tea and Dance Lessons in the ballroom in the new year. The popular Court House Tours on selected Saturdays will return around Easter time.
