Unlocking Warwick was one of a wide group local organisations represented at a recent workshop to consider ways of making Warwick even more attractive to visitors.

The group heard the initial results of a ‘Warwick Visitor Audit’ conducted on behalf of the District and Town Councils by specialist consultants, ‘The Tourism Company’. Their experts had looked at Warwick’s visitor attractions, shopping areas, promotional material and accessibility on five visits through the summer.

In the workshop they wanted to hear views from representatives of the Councils, the Tourist Information Centre, the Chamber of Trade, Warwick’s Museums, Shakespeare’s England, local shops and restaurants, Warwick Castle, and the Racecourse.

The consultants were clearly very impressed with historic Warwick and its wide range of facilities and places of interest. Recommendations, which may include improvements to some of the signs as visitors arrive in Warwick by car, train or bus, will be presented to the council officers after the consultation is complete in a a few week’s time.
