Regency Ball – Pictures
Elizabeth Bennet and Darcy from Pride and Prejudice made an appearance at the Warwick Regency Ball on November 26th, in the shape of young actors from King’s High and Warwick School.
They were part of a group from the Bridge House Young Company performing some extracts from Jane Austen’s most famous novel, in which the two protagonists encounter each other at two very different balls.
The interval entertainment was much appreciated, as were the tasty canapés produced by the Unlocking Warwick volunteers, and the dancing itself, led by Dance Director Frances Richardson with live music from Mr. Sayer’s Players. Here are a few more pictures.
Some of the guests had travelled quite long distances to join the ball – from London, the South Coast, Bristol and Staffordshire, with one couple coming from Ireland.
The feedback afterwards was very enthusiastic, with many people stopping to tell the volunteers how much they had enjoyed the Warwick Regency Ball 2022. Organiser Tricia Scott and her team of helpers were given a sustained round of applause at the end of the evening.
