War Memorial Project on the Radio

On November 8th, just three days before the Centenary Remembrance Sunday, our Warwick War Memorial project was the subject of an item on the breakfast programme of BBC Coventry and Warwickshire.

Unlocking Warwick’s Secretary, Rick Thompson, was interviewed live at the war memorial in Church Street. In the brief time available he was able to explain the year-long project by the team of volunteers to find the stories behind the WWI names on the brass plaques, and post them on the special website www.warwickwarmemorial.org.uk

He gave one or two examples, and told listeners that the search continues for information about the Warwick Fallen from local families, and in particular for photographs of those who died.

You should be able to hear the interview by clicking on this link – at least for a week after the broadcast. It appears at 1 hour 24 minutes into the programme.
